Manchester Chartered accountants and business advisors Beever and Struthers have been appointed to provide audit services for the British Weight Lifters’ Association (BWLA).
The BWLA is the national governing body for Weightlifting and Disability Power Lifting in Great Britain. It represents World Class Lifting (WCL), the independent body established to run the World Class Performance Programme for the sport of weightlifting and Disability Power Lifting and the two organisations work closely together.
Its partner organisations include Sport England, UK Sport, Sport Northern Ireland, Sports Council Wales, Sport Scotland and World Class Lifting.
Maria Hallows, partner at Beever and Struthers, said: “This is the latest in a series of recent client wins for us and we’re delighted to be providing audit services to the BWLA.
We were the natural choice for the BWLA because we work for other sporting organisations such as the International Federation of Netball Association and the English Institute of Sport (EIS).”
Steve Cannon, chief executive officer at the BWLA, said: “Beever and Struthers was the ideal fit for the BWLA because of the firm’s existing work with World Class Lifting and other governing bodies.”
