Double Joy as Kids Allowed Awarded Second ‘Outstanding’ – Knutsford Centre Joins Cheadle in Receiving Top Grade from Ofsted

Kids Allowed’s Birkin Centre in Knutsford has been ranked “outstanding” – the top grade – by Ofsted following its inspection this week – the first day nursery in Knutsford to achieve this.

The Knutsford-based childcare centre, on Mobberly Road was honoured by Ofsted as an ‘outstanding’ childcare provider in England after being judged on a wide range of criteria, including quality and standards, leadership and management, personal development and children’s well-being.

This is the second ‘outstanding’ grade for Kids Allowed, as its centre at Cheadle Royal Business Park also received the accolade last month and with less than 2% of nurseries in the UK receiving an overall ‘outstanding’ grade, it is exceptional that Kids Allowed have achieved two.

The Birkin Centre, which is used by children from six weeks old to toddlers, and pre-schoolers, as well as an after-school club – offers a sensory theatre, The Studio for soft play, music and movement, a gymnasium where children can enjoy climbing and physical exercise and a dedicated music room, as well as outdoor areas accessible for every age-specific room.

Managing Director of Kids Allowed, Jennie Johnson said: “We are delighted that two out of our three centres have achieved this grade. The training and team development approach and the range of activities we offer, together with the continued passion, dedication and commitment of the team, has meant that we are able to provide a five star service to the children who attend our centres.

“We are also grateful for the support of the parents who take as much pride in the nursery as we all do.”

Kids Allowed Knutsford is praised by Her Majesty’s Chief Inspector of Education, Children’s Services and Skills, alongside other top childcare providers in the annual list of outstanding providers published by Ofsted.

The report said: “The overall effectiveness of the setting is outstanding. The committed and enthusiastic team provide high standards of care to children and recognise their uniqueness when meeting their needs.

“In addition children receive excellent opportunities and experiences which lead them to make excellent progress in their learning and development.

“Excellent partnerships with parents and carers are in place, and staff are working extremely hard to promote partnerships with other professionals. Self evaluation and planning for continuous improvement are highly effective.”

Kids Allowed, which also has two other centres in Didsbury and Cheadle, was deemed to have shown an excellent quality of care and education across the full range of their work to support children in their development.

Childcare providers that appear on the Outstanding Providers list receive commemorative certificates and are authorised to use an exclusive “outstanding provider” logo.
