After a highly competitive tender process, SKV was appointed by the Lancashire LEP in 2016 to raise both the profile of the LEP’s work and communicate Lancashire’s role as an emerging economic force at the heart of the Northern Powerhouse.
SKV works closely with the LEP’s executive board, chaired by Booth’s supermarkets chairman Edwin Booth, and all of the county’s key partners. These include Marketing Lancashire, Lancashire County Council, the Boost business growth hub, the Lancashire Skills Hub, and fourteen unitary and district local authorities.
SKV also liaises with large private sector Lancashire partners – such as aerospace giant BAE Systems – as well as with local SMEs and other key Lancashire institutions, including as the county’s four universities.
Through a focussed and relentless targeting of local, regional and national media with bullish Lancashire success stories – including The FT, The Times and The Guardian – SKV has generated regular, highly positive coverage about the LEP’s work, and how it has helped build Lancashire’s reputation as a united, ambitious and resurgent economic region, for the first time in the LEP’s history
SKV has also worked on major campaigns, exhibitions and conferences on behalf of the LEP including the launch of a major new ‘Lancashire narrative’ (with Northern Powerhouse Minister Andrew Percy MP as keynote speaker), Lancashire’s debut presence at MIPIM UK and MIPIM International and the launch of the Aerospace Lancashire initiative at the Farnborough International Airshow.
