AWARD-winning Manchester PR agency SKV Communications have hired Mairead Rodden, 26, after she appeared on Trafalgar Square’s Fourth Plinth and advertised that she was looking for work.
Mairead took part in Antony Gormley’s One and Other art project, which gave 2,400 members of the public one hour each on the empty plinth to use as they wish. The project ended yesterday, 15th October.
Mairead, from Manchester, who holds a postgraduate diploma in Communications at the University of Ulster, had been looking for a full time Manchester Public Relations agency job for over a year.
She wore a sandwich board to advertise she was looking for work and her photo on the plinth appeared in media including the Manchester Evening News.
Now the stunt has paid off as SKV Communications in Manchester offered her a job as Account Executive.
Andrew Spinoza, Managing Director at SKV Communications commented “Mairead’s stunt showed enterprise and creativity, qualities we like in a new starter. We are delighted to have Mairead on board.”
Mairead said “I was delighted when SKV offered me a job, and I’m looking forward to settling into my role in the company.”
SKV communications is one of Manchester’s top PR agencies and has recently been voted North West PR agency of the year 2009 in NW Business Insider by its peers in the region’s PR sector.
