Manchester online PR agency SKV Communications has landed a digital double - PR projects for the North West’s most prestigious celebrations of digital business and technology.
SKV, which this month re-positioned its offer around online PR and marketing, has been awarded the brief for the Big Chip Awards, the region’s flagship awards for companies excelling in the use of digital technology.
SKV will support the 11th annual Big Chips, awards for everything from a company website to digital marketing.
The agency will help boost entries and table sales for the event on Thursday 18 June at the Palace Hotel, Manchester, compered by TV personality Terry Christian.
SKV have also won the job to launch and promote Futuresonic, the North-west’s leading celebration of cutting-edge creativity and technology, after a competitive pitch.
With a focus on digital culture and innovation, Futuresonic is the annual festival of art, music and ideas which bring together artists and visionary thinkers to Manchester, and this year also to Liverpool.
SKV has been tasked to work across both traditional and digital channels to engage with a diverse range of regional, national and international audiences.
Now in its 14th year, with a strong international reputation, Futuresonic 09 last year attracted 50,000 cultural mavericks, digital pioneers and early adopters to Manchester from around the globe.
In addition to the digital arts events SKV will also be promoting Futuresonic’s parallel annual conference, The Social Technologies Summit. One theme for this year’s festival, from May 13-16, is Environment 2.0.
Festival Director Drew Hemment says: “We were impressed by SKV’s excellent credentials in both cultural and technology PR which is unusual to find. Their experience and ideas for social media approaches particularly stood out.”
The team will be led by Account Director Richard Bond from the Manchester PR agency’s offices at Greengate, Manchester.
Says Bond: “SKV will be working across a variety of on and offline platforms to further raise public awareness of the festival and conference.
“As digital culture and social media tools have now permeated every aspect of daily life, we anticipate that media interest in Futuresonic will go far beyond niche arts magazines and ‘future gazing’ blogs, and that mainstream media will have greater appetite for this type of content.”
MD Andy Spinoza says: “These are two really cool and exciting accounts. They give SKV great scope for demonstrating our creativity, innovation and understanding of the new social media.”
