Coface economist Christine Altuzarra addresses the Coface UK & Ireland Country Risk Conference, Manchester, June 2010.
SKV Communications has been appointed by country risk ratings organisation Coface UK & Ireland to manage media relations for the Coface Country Risk Conference for the second year in succession.
In 2010 SKV handled PR for the Coface Country Risk Conference in Manchester and has been appointed to provide media relations and video production for this year’s event at the Emirates Stadium in London in June.
The key appointment builds on the specialism developed by the Manchester PR agency in promoting conference and exhibitions to attract both sponsors and delegates, and to generate client coverage in target media.
The agency recently worked with Salford University on the UK’s first Retrofit conference, including the media launch of the world’s first Energy House. SKV secured expert speakers drawn from universities, industry and government, and the attendance of Climate Change minister Greg Barker, also handling pre and post conference press relations, and producing a five-minute film to be used to market future conferences.
Another conference success for SKV include the 2011 North of England Education Conference for which the agency undertook extensive copywriting, brokered media partnerships and delivered national and regional PR. SKV worked directly with high-profile conference speakers included Baroness Estelle Morris, ex-Haringey DCS Sharon Shoesmith, Ann Widdecombe, Martin Bell, Andy Burnham MP and School’s Minister Nick Gibb.
Justin Strong, Associate Director at SKV Communications, is managing the campaign for the Coface UK & Ireland Country Risk Conference.
He said: “SKV’s extensive experience goes beyond promoting conferences and events to attracting sponsorship and delegates. In addition to media profiles on event organisers and using celebrities to open exhibitions, we liaise with individual exhibitors to source news stories to secure media coverage and encourage attendance.
“Being retained by Coface UK & Ireland to promote its Country Risk Conference for a second successive year is a fantastic win for us. We’re looking forward to building on our achievements of last year to make the 2011 conference in London a major success.”
