SKV Communications scooped the Judge’s Choice and 2 gold awards in the most hotly contested categories at the prestigious Fresh Media Awards last night for its work to promote Blackpool as a tourist destination.
The Odeon Cinema at The Printworks in Manchester was the location for the Oscar’s style ceremony attended by over 300 of the region’s leading media and creative talent.
SKV picked up the coveted gold award for the best consumer campaign in a shortlist that comprised work by eleven other leading agencies in the region. The second gold, for best public sector campaign, was awarded over nine others in its category. The awards were for the viral film, J’aime La Tour, which was played on the cinema screen before it was announced that the 2009 Judges Choice award was also to be given to the Manchester PR agency for this work.
Director Daniel Kennedy said, “There was stiff competition from some of the most respected agencies working in the region so to win double gold and the Judges Choice award was a huge achievement. We make virals, corporate DVDs and video news releases and to win an award for what was a great project to work on was fantastic.”
